The southern flag is not a symbol for
racism, or any
other form of foreign hostility, but a trademark of southern rock - a
musical style from the American southlands created in the late sixties -
fronted by legendary rock bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, but also by country
bands like Charlie Daniels Band.
The southern flag was taken to use by the American
southern rock bands in the early seventies, to give them an identity and
a trademark, but also to show their pride of their origin. This has
therefore nothing to do with either politics or racism.
